Residential Projects

SteMic Marine Construction is proud of every residential marine structure we construct. If desired, we offer a turn-key project. We can handle everything from the initial consultation/design, through permitting (including state and federal), to completion of your new structure. Call SteMic today and let us design a structure that will work best for you.

Docks

From the simplest marginal dock to a custom dock with all the accessories, we start with materials that are made and/or treated to last in the harsh Southwest Florida saltwater environment. All of the sub-structure is marine grade Southern Yellow Pine (S.Y.P.), from the 8″ or 10″ round marine piling to the 2″ x 8″ rough sawn timbers for the framing. Standard hardware for the wood to piling connection is 5/8″ hot-dipped galvanized bolts.

There are many choices for decking. Our standard decking is a #1 dense, 2″ x 6″ Southern Yellow Pine deck board treated to .40 a.c.q. If you choose to upgrade, we offer a variety of other choices from Ipé decking (a Brazilian hardwood) to our favorite composite decking. All of our decks are secured with stainless steel deck screws which last much longer than standard hot-dipped galvanized nails or screws.

Boat Lifts

SteMic Marine Construction primarily installs aluminum lifts manufactured by Quality Boat Lifts and/or Ace Boat Lifts. The four-post boat lifts start at a capacity of 4,500# and go up from there. Besides the 4-post lifts, we also offer personal watercraft lifts, elevator lifts, and solar lifts.

Seawalls ⁄ Erosion Control

SteMic installs many types of walls in our residential applications. From a simple vinyl wall with an aluminum or wood cap to a 8″ thick concrete panel, we have done it all. We also repair walls, from installing new deadmen to replacing concrete caps.

Boathouse Roofs

The typical boathouse constructed by SteMic Marine Construction is approx. 16′ x 31″. The roof can be constructed one of two ways: open framed or built with premanufactured trusses. The open framed roof is constructed with all pressure treated lumber and allows a boat to go higher up into the roof. The advantage to the trusses is that they are less expensive.

Spot Dredging

We clean out individual slip areas (including boat lifts) using small hydraulic pumps to transfer material directly to trucks and haul it off site.
